Who: Cordelia, Lindsey, Lilah
Where: Wolfram & Hart Cells
When: Evening
Status: Incomplete

Cordelia was beyond exhausted. She didn't even know how long she'd been in this place. Honestly, she thought Angel and maybe even Doyle would have rescued her by now. But, no, she was dealing with the worst migraine of her life, not to mention she was weak from how much blood they'd tested. And she couldn't even comprehend everything else they had done to her here.

If she was going to go out, she never thought it would be like this. Not at Wolfram & Hart and not in a dingy little jail cell. She wanted to go out with glamour like a celebrity. Or hell, maybe by saving the world somehow? Ha. Yeah right. But, still, anything seemed better than being here all alone.

She curled up, facing the back wall of her cell. Where were they all? Did they really just forget about her? Had they died coming to save her? Or had they figured she wasn't worth saving? But, she was vision girl dammit! They totally had to save her or they'd be so screwed. That is, if she still had visions by the end of the day. She had no clue what they wanted with them.

But, she had a feeling they weren't keeping her around to tell them what she saw. Nope, they were probably going to suck the things out of her head until she was dead and gone. And if Angel really wasn't coming? Well, she hoped it was sooner than later.

As far as cells could go, they could have given Cordelia Chase a worse one. She at least had a bed and a closed door instead of bars, after all. Still, a cell was a cell. You can only pretty it up so much without being reminded that, yes, you're still in a prison. When he was told to go see her, Lindsey was a little confused. What, was he supposed to go and comfort her or something? He'd rather shut it out of his head that he helped kidnap a girl and basically sentenced her to death, thanks.

Still, you did what the bosses asked around here with as few questions as possible. They just said to 'check up' on her. Not that he was really sure what to 'check up' on, either. The fact that she was still alive after being here for a few days was kind of amazing. Either they were going to keep her for some reason, or they didn't know how to get the visions out of her head. Who knew which one it was.

So, in an effort to help her out, or something, he grabbed her a fast food meal from McDonald's and went downstairs, key in his free hand, and went to her cell, unlocking it and shutting the door behind him so that he could 'check' on her. Sometimes he wondered just what the people upstairs were thinking when they told him to do things.

"Cordelia?" Damn, she looked like hell. She was still breathing, though, so that was a good enough sign. "I uh...I brought you some food." He set it down on a little table in the room between them. After that, he leaned against the far wall from her and just watched her for a moment. What? It wasn't like he really knew what to DO here.

Cordelia heard her name. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping against hope that the voice had been Angel, but she knew already. It belonged to Lindsey. Her captor. He had put her here, given her to the people that were doing this to her.

She could smell the food before he had even mentioned it. Her stomach rumbled in desire, but she ignored it simply in protest. Honestly, she was surprised she even had much of an appetite. But, crappy salty McDonalds french fries sounded like absolute heaven right now. But, no, she wouldn't eat his peace offering, or whatever the hell he was doing.

She slowly sat up and narrowed her eyes at him as he set the food down near her. "Come to give me some more torture?" she asked, anger rising in her voice, "Because really, I've had more than enough for a lifetime."

She pulled her knees to her chest as she sat on the uncomfortable cot, "Really, what do you want? Because I'd rather you just kill me than chat me to death until my next lovely torture session."

"No, I'm not here to torture you," Lindsey admitted. He couldn't quite figure out why he was here, to be honest. He had just been told to come in and check on her. That was the only instruction he had been given. He had actually come up with the idea of bringing her food on his own. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing here. He had figured that whatever food they had been giving her, if they had been giving her any at all, was crap.

"I gotta admit, I don't know what the hell I'm doing here," he said finally, sighing. He looked, well, at the least he looked uncomfortable with seeing her like this. It's one thing to shut out of your mind what your employers do around here. It's another to see it face to face. He really wasn't liking himself right now, but, then again, should he?

Some strange ideas were crossing his mind right now. Ideas that would probably get him killed if he went through with him. But he was human, though. He sucked to see a person like this, as a prisoner and looking like hell.

Lilah had just got done in a meeting, and had been instructed the same as Lindsey to go check on Cordelia Chase. Lilah hadn't been told what to do beyond that either. So she took the elevator down to the sublevel basement, and was soon walking down the long bleak hallway to the girl's cell.

When she got there she saw Lindsey was already there, and looking highly uncomfortable.

"This whole pretending to be nice thing has lost its novelty," Cordelia grumbled, even though the guy truly seemed completely unaware as to why he was there.

She looked up at him under heavily lidded eyes, "I don't know why you guys even care about these stupid vision things so much. I didn't want them in the first place. I just got them by total accident. If you guys are so powerful and mighty, why can't you just suck them out of my head or something and then let me go?" She wasn't much for begging for her life anymore, especially since life pretty much sucked lately. It was gradually getting better with bumping into Angel and helping him and his friends out.

And then suddenly Lindsey's bestest friend at the firm came to visit. "Wow, I don't feel like an animal at the zoo at all. Gather round to view the tortured vision girl," she sent glares to both of them.

Lindsey hadn't even realized that they had sent Lilah to come in here as well, which, honestly, just made the whole thing eight thousand times more uncomfortable for him. Of course, did he deserve to be comfortable in this situation? Not really. He had kidnapped some kid (because that's what she was, a kid) and brought her to a place that she more than likely wouldn't survive because his bosses had told him to do it.

"Because they are still trying to figure out how to get the visions out of your head," he said to her simply. No point in lying to her, after all. "Plus, they really can't just 'let you go.' What would happen if they let you go? You'd tell Angel what happened, and he'd probably try something incredibly stupid in some act of revenge, wouldn't he?"

He shook his head at the zoo comment. "Do you know why they sent you here?" he asked Lilah out of frustration. She had been here longer than him. Maybe she actually got told things from time to time as to why they were doing them. Lindsey still pretty much got the 'do this or we'll kill you' speeches.

Lilah looked at Cordelia and then at Lindsey. "Oh please you know that's not how it works around here." She sighed and looked at her nails. "Okay that's true most of the time, they told me to check on her and make sure she was still breathing mostly."
misschase on May 11th, 2010 02:50 pm (UTC)
She folded her arms, looking rather pouty as though Lindsey was scolding her like a child. "Of course I'd tell Angel. And of course he'd come in here and kick all of your asses," she said matter-of-factly, "And why shouldn't he? You all obviously deserve it."

Cordelia huffed out a sigh as the two lawyers bickered. She rolled her eyes. "Still breathing. Although at this point, I'd rather not be." She wasn't exactly a defeatist, but if she was going to endure much more of this torture (and the never-ending boredom), she'd rather be killed now.

And honestly, where the hell was Angel? He was usually so good about the whole rescuing damsels. And here she was, obviously needing some rescuing and he was nowhere to be found. "I could use some Advil if you want me to keep breathing. My head kills," she said, not sure if they'd comply with her wish, but she might as well try.
Lindsey MacDonald: Country 02oklahomalawyer on May 11th, 2010 06:18 pm (UTC)
"Then you see my point, right?" he asked her. Of course she didn't, she just wanted out of here, and a part of Lindsey wanted to LET her out of here and then pretend that he had nothing to do with it so that he wouldn't get his head chopped off by his bosses. Of course, they had mind readers, so even pretending wouldn't do him a damn bit of good, so he was just screwed either way, right? Unless someone came up with a plan otherwise, that is.

"Well, she's here and breathing, and talking, and hating the guts of everyone who comes in here, so I think she's fine," he said quickly to Lilah. He was so uncomfortable right now that he just wanted to bail and run away from the angry woman/girl laying on the cot glaring up at him on occasion.

When she asked for some Advil, he fished a bottle of painkillers out of his pocket and set them on the table. He occasionally got headaches just from working here and trying to *not* think of what he was actually doing, so he always carried some on his person. That, among other things, might be a sign that he needs a different job.
Lilah Morgan: Danger and Diamondslawyerfor_satan on May 15th, 2010 02:37 pm (UTC)
Lilah watched Lindsey for a few moments before saying anything. She knew the look that crossed over his face for a second, he was considering doing something stupid that in all likely hood would get him killed or possibly just fired.

She noticed the pain killers he fished out of his pocket and raised an eyebrow. She knew that he wasn't the only one that carried pills on hand around here. Hell half the people in this place either drank or were pill popping usually both just to get through the day.

"Great I'm sure they'll be thrilled to hear it." Lilah said with a slight eye roll.
misschase on May 25th, 2010 08:29 pm (UTC)
Cordelia took the pills, eyeing them carefully. Because what evil lawyer would just have some regular headache medicine? Well, luckily for her, Lindsey did. She was still suspicious they might curse her or knock her out. Actually, the second option seemed just fine.

She opened the bottle and tossed two pills back, washing them down with a swig of water. She knew it would be a while before she would even feel the effects. She pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. She was really sick of this whole zoo animal thing.

"That's me, breathing and hating," she said with an eye roll.

(OOC: I feel like we can't do much more with this thread, lol. Maybe we should start on the rescuing soonish.)
