Who: Buffy & Angel
Where: The lovely Los Angeles sewers
When: Evening
Status: Incomplete

Because she apparently wanted to torture herself, Buffy had suggested that she and Angel work the sewers to see if they could track Faith and/or Spike. She and Angel plus sewers was never really a good thing, so as long as they didn't break up for a second time--not that they were even together right now--she'd say this would be a better sewer trip.

Her boots splashed in the murky, smelly water as she landed in the endless tunnels after Angel. She saw a few rats scurry away at the sudden human presence and wrinkled her nose. Los Angeles was definitely a lot grosser than Sunnydale. And that was saying something.

She gripped her stake in one hand as she and Angel moved down the tunnel. After a long silence, she finally broke it, "Are you getting anything?"

Angel had almost considered getting a hold of Gunn and getting him to go along with Buffy instead of himself. However, he had finally decided to go along with her for now. It wasn't like the day could get much worse, could it?

While Buffy certainly had some opinions about the tunnel, Angel barely noticed the stench. Even though his sense of smell was stronger than hers, he was used to it from having to use them to trek around through the day. They were a little nastier than Sunnydale's sewers, but it accommodated a larger city.

He cocked his head to one side, listening. "There's nothing anywhere near here. Nothing that we're looking for, anyway." This was a wild goose chase.

Buffy let out a sigh, following along behind Angel. She doubted there would be much trace of Faith or Spike in the sewers since they'd gotten away in a car. Plus, they might be holding up somewhere above the sewer or in the sewer, so it never hurt to try.

She watched him listen hard, "What about smell? I mean, all I can smell is, well, sewer."

He nodded, pausing to listen for a minute. After a minute, he sighed, sounding frustrated. "The only thing I smell, other than the obvious, is a couple of demons about a mile away that, while we can vent some frustration on, won't actually do us any good right now."

This was getting aggravating quick.

"Wouldn't say no to some frustration venting," Buffy said, "Especially since I can't do it in the much more pleasant way." She chewed on her lip. Even if she and Angel weren't exactly getting along, she knew that some make-up sex would probably cure whatever was bothering them...if they could actually utilize it. Which they couldn't. Ever.

Angel had to bite back a chuckle when she admitted that some frustration venting wouldn't be bad. "Neither would I," he said. If he *could* do some venting in any other way, he wouldn't mind utilizing it as well. There wasn't going to be any of that, either, though.

He pointed down one of the tunnels. "I think I heard some vampires down that way," he said.

"Well, therein lies our problem," Buffy sighed. Angel had been her first--and only--and she was eager to try it out again. But, of course, that could never ever happen. Sometimes she had to be immature and complain that life was unfair.

Her brows rose in hope for a distraction at his words. She listened and concentrated hard, moving down the tunnels more quickly. "Hopefully you're right. I could use the distraction."

If they didn't find something to beat the living hell out of soon, he wasn't sure he was going to be able to hold out from just pushing her against a wall and kissing her for long. Neither of them (nor anyone else) needed him to be losing his soul again any time soon, so they needed to find that group of vampires FAST.

He moved down the tunnels quickly as well, almost running straight into a group of four vampires. Knowing that they were up to no good, he immediately punching one of them in the face. He had a lot of frustration to get out of his system right now.

Buffy followed after Angel and saw the vampires as he sent a punch right into one. Well, clearly she wasn't the only one frustrated in more ways than one.

Two of them rushed at her, but she was more than ready for them. She kicked one in the chest, whirling around to punch the other in the face, hearing a nice crack as its nose broke and blood gushed down his face. "Gross," she murmured to herself as she pulled her stake out of her pocket.

He would have at least smiled at Buffy's comment of 'gross' over blood gushing from a vampire's nose if he wasn't busy enough with his two vampires. This was someone who saw blood and guts as a part of her nightly 'job,' and yet she still found it yucky sometimes. Amusing.

As soon as the vampire he had punched turned on him, he immediately kicking it in the chest, sending it flying across the sewer. When the other tried to tackle him down to the ground, he ducked it, watching as it went sprawling down onto the ground, quickly grabbing a stake out of his jacket and slamming it into its back, watching as it dusted before turning his attention on the remaining vampire, who was getting up and coming back towards him.
